The first Friday of each month is a park day. Park locations vary each month. Students enjoy two hours of playtime with friends and a snack provided by PCHG. During park days, students have access to our sports bag full of games, activities, and sports equipment.
Students participate in 2-3 class days each month. Parents volunteer to teach lessons based on a monthly topic.
Students participate in one field trip each month. We aim to keep the traveling distance within 2.5 hours of the New Bern, N.C. area.
Students participate in several social events each semester. Students are divided into age groups for these events.
Fall Festival
Pamlico Christian Homeschool Group hosts a fall festival for local homeschooling families in October of each year. This event is a fundraiser to raise money for our homeschool prom held in March. In addition, we collaborate with Broad Creek Christian Church to provide a fall festival to the special needs community. Teens serve food, run games, and provide support at both events.
Homeschool Prom
Pamlico Christian Homeschool Group hosts a community prom for local homeschooling families in March of each year. This event is open to all homeschooled students and their friends ages 14-18. Students are invited to dress in their best formalwear attire and enjoy a night of fun, food, and dancing with their friends!
Community Service Projects
Each semester PCHG chooses one organization to support through acts of service, monetary donations, or charitable contributions.
Each semester, parents plan a few nights of fun and activities away from the kids. This provides our parents with a much deserved break from their daily schedules and a chance to connect with other homeschooling parents.
